CMAT is a new and dynamic art and music Centre focussing on the development of world music as it is practiced in Birmingham and the West Midlands by artistes from diverse communities around the world. The Centre houses two fully equipped, modern recording studios, a pre-production suite, music technology suite and meeting rooms. It offers a range of music courses and seminars and hopes to expand into global themes in the near future. CMAT encourages national and international collaborations and operates an 'artiste in residence' scheme with Black Voices (internationally acclaimed a cappella company), Caliche (South American performance company) and Jamma (steel pan). |
