mac is an exciting multiform arts centre. Our mission is to 'promote innovative, creative arts activities in ways which help to establish them as an important part of people's lives'. In an average year our overall programme includes over 400 performances, 30 exhibitions, 1,000 film screenings and 5,500 educational sessions. Over the last 18 months an ambitious building project to completely renovate and rebuild aspects of the centre has taken place with the newly refurbished and much improved arts centre due to reopen in 2010. World music plays a significant role in our performing arts programme. Our overall programme is created by a team of producers working in close collaboration with Associate Artists, with a focus on work that explores new ground and intercultural, interdisciplinary approaches across a range of art form areas.
