In the UK, the West Midlands have been supporting music from diverse cultures for centuries. The Birmingham Triennial Music Festivals (1784 to 1912) featured classical composers from various European cities whilst the Irish, Scottish and Welsh added to the musical mosaic with their own folk music.

After the war American Rhythm & Blues was very popular and from the 50s, the region was becoming the home for a variety of exciting music from around the world. The 70s witnessed an explosion of reggae, and interesting mixtures ('two-tone') whilst Birmingham was also becoming the centre of Bhangra music.

Nurturing music from diverse cultures still exist as more and more musicians are creating and producing innovative and dynamic 'new' music, reflecting   a culturally rich and vibrant West Midlands. Read on…….. work with us and let's continue that tradition!
